Here is some basic information that may help you in the process of deciding if you would like to join Charlotte Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD).

When Does Fire Meet?

Charlotte Fire meets every Wednesday night at 7:30PM at the station for training (The first Wednesday of each month is the monthly business meeting).

How Will I know when there is a Fire Call?

Each member of the fire dept is issued a pager, which will alert you to when there is a fire call.  Officers as well as other designated members will be also issued a radio.

What can I do on the Fire Dept?

There are many different ways that you can be involved with the fire dept. Some of them are:

    • Firefighting
      Water/Ice Rescue
      Fire Prevention
      Heavy Rescue
      Driver or Pump Operator
      High Angle Rescue
      Hazmat Operations

Can I still help if I dont have any training?

Absolutely, Charlotte Volunteer Fire Department will provide training to you to allow you to assist in the above mentioned capacities.
